Go Native Heading to Kempton

30th November 2009

Go Native, impressive 2 ½ length winner of the 2009 WBX.COM Fighting Fifth Hurdle, will now head to Kempton as he seeks to become the first winner of the WBX Hurdling Triple Crown.

In defeating Sublimity, Solwhit and Binocular, Go Native stepped up from his novice season form and could be the heir apparent to Harchibald, so often the standard bearer for Noel Meade in all the top two mile hurdle races in recent years.

The WBX Hurdling Triple Crown once again takes in the three Grade 1 2m hurdle races run in Britain each season: The WBX.COM Fighting Fifth Hurdle, Christmas Hurdle at Kempton and Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham. Go Native will land connections a £1 million bonus if he manages to win the next two legs.

Were Go Native to land the £1 million bonus for winning the WBX Hurdling Triple Crown £700,000 would be awarded to owners the Docado Syndicate, £150,000 to trainer Noel Meade, £100,000 to the responsible stable lad and £50,000 to the remainder of the staff at Tu Va.

Iain Turner, PR and Sponsorship Manager for WBX.COM said, “Go Native continued Noel Meade’s excellent record in the WBX.COM Fighting Fifth Hurdle on Saturday after two previous victories in the race.

As a Supreme Novices’ Hurdle winner he has already proven he acts at Cheltenham and with a 100% record in England he could add to his tally at Kempton on Boxing Day. Noel Meade has enjoyed success in the past at Kempton with Harchibald and he will know exactly what is needed to win the Christmas Hurdle.”
