Go Native Still on Track for Bonus
17 December 2009
All the latest news exclusively from Noel Meade as he prepares Go Native for the second leg of the £1 million WBX Hurdling Triple Crown.
Everything continues to go brilliantly for Go Native at home. He has certainly gone the right way since Newcastle and the WBX.COM Fighting Fifth Hurdle and I couldn’t be happier with him.
The training is going well and I have heard from Barney Clifford, Clerk of the Course at Kempton, that the ground should be ideal. He has told me that it is currently good to soft which will not pose any problems at all for my lad. The better ground in England can partly explain why his two Grade 1 victories have both come on the other side of the Irish Sea.
Looking at the possible opposition it does look like it might well be a small field as the only horses I have heard are due to run are ourselves, Binocular and Starluck. However, as I highlighted last week, I am not too concerned about a lack of pace and, if anything, a faster gallop might even suit us better.
Go Native will be our only runner on the card on Boxing Day. However, Paul Carberry should be at Kempton and will be able to provide any help and advice before the race should Davy need it.
I just hope Go Native remains in the same form as he is in at the moment, travels over ok and, most importantly, that the meeting at Kempton goes ahead.
