Kempton Preparations Complete
23 December 2009
With just a few days to go until the second leg of the WBX Hurdling Triple Crown I couldn't be happier with Go Native. He is in grand form at Tu Va and I am very much looking forward to sending him to Kempton.
Go Native had a quick spin yesterday on the all-weather at Dundalk and he went superbly. He will travel over with one of our stable lads, Alan, who also accompanied him to Newcastle for the Fighting Fifth, tonight and it is now all systems go for the Christmas Hurdle.
Looking at the entries it is interesting, but not surprising, to see JP McManus declare Straw Bear presumably to try and guarantee some pace in the race for Binocular. However, as I have said here before, a faster gallop than in the Fighting Fifth might well suit us better too.
I spoke to Barry Geraghty’s father in the past few days and he reported Barry had sat on Binocular this week and told him he appeared to be in fine form. He once again looks like the one to beat although it is a strong race despite just the seven runners. Having said that, I wouldn’t swap Go Native for anything else in the line up and I’m expecting a very bold showing on a track that should play to his strengths.
